Are you overwhelmed by the mess you see every time you open the garage door? Have you finally had enough and are ready to do something about the clutter? Item by item, the mess has built from month to month and year to year. If you've reached the boiling point, and are ready to take charge, and reclaim your garage, we can help. More details below.

Step 1

We will help you Empty the garage

As much as you don’t want to, it must be done. Everything, right down to the last tiny Allen wrench, needs to be taken out of your garage. It’s the only way you’ll be able to clean effectively and rediscover all the treasures lost ages ago, including your championship Little League trophy.

Starting with the first item you pull out, we will sort your belongings and arrange them into designated areas. Trash, Keep, Donate, & Recycle.

Step 2

We will help you Clean the garage

The garage is usually the only room in the house that is exempt from the occasional deep cleaning. Because of this, a layer of filth coats every flat surface. Once the contents of your garage have been removed, you may even be able to see the grimy outlines where boxes used to lie, similar to police chalk around fallen victims. Go ahead and suck those up with a vacuum cleaner, along with the dust bunnies, cobwebs and insects that have trapped themselves behind your workbench.

Now, it’s on to the floors. Thank goodness the garage doesn’t demand the tender care and thorough polishing that a bowling alley would. We can help you sweep it out or you can hose it down. All you need to loosen the grunge is a nozzle for your hose that delivers righteous firepower. Crank the spigot to full blast and really let loose, starting at the back and spraying the dirt towards the driveway. You may need to follow up this chore by pushing the remaining water out with a broom, which will also help to speed up the drying process.

Step 3 (Optional)

We will help you Install storage units

Having already extracted and divvied up your possessions, you should now have a good sense of what actually needs to go back in. Use this mental stock to purchase and install appropriately sized storage bins, drawer units, bike racks, hooks, and shelves. These items will restore order to your garage by providing a specific place for each of your belongings. Ideally, only your car and heavy equipment like a lawnmower will occupy the floor space of your garage, allowing you to easily maneuver items in and out when the time comes.

Step 4

We will help you Filter everything back in

Consolidate your things so that only what you truly need returns to your garage. “I might, perhaps, eventually want that some day,” stands between you and a few more functional square feet of your home, so be relentless; anything you’re on the fence about should go elsewhere. By now, you’ve already gone through the process of assigning your belongings a spot. See to it that each item gets there but be willing to improvise as you go. Constantly evaluate how often you’ll need each item and relocate it as needed. That way, you don’t have to dig out your toolbox from under an unwieldy box of Christmas decorations.

We will haul off for you giveaway and recyclable items free of charge!!!

How to get rid of your clothes

First, commit a few hours to cleaning out your closet and sorting through your clothes. Think of it as bringing necessary order to your living space and morning routine -- it'll actually make getting up and out much more enjoyable. The next step is simple and undebatable: Anything you own that you do not wear, never loved wearing or experience an ounce of regret when looking at must be eliminated from your wardrobe post-haste. It's like keeping around pictures of an ex-girlfriend while looking for a new one: futile (and just a little pathetic).

If you're having difficulty deciding what to keep and what to ditch, here are a few more practical suggestions to make it easier:

1 - If you haven’t worn it in one year, toss it;
2 - Categorize your wardrobe into three piles: yesterday, today and tomorrow. Toss whatever is in the yesterday pile. Chances are you wavered a bit on No. 2 and still have a big pile of "maybes," and haven't yet come to terms with what you're going to do with it. Well, these garments have one last chance and then they're gone.

Take stock of your clothes

There's actually one step before throwing down the gauntlet of your old clothes. Pants that are a bit too wide in the leg? Suits that fit a touch looser than you prefer? In many cases, a good tailor can rebuild the garments for a lot less than the cost of new ones. Twenty dollars to rework a pair of slacks beats buying new ones; plus, you'll develop a relationship with a tailor, the best of whom pride themselves on making you look your best.

Giveaway your clothes

Even the best tailor can't fix something you're bored with, so, after you've taken stock, whatever remains must go.

Fortunately, we take clothes, shoes, and ties that are in good condition (not stained or torn) to help those who are in need, looking for a job, homeless, etc. We especially need unneeded bookbags, luggage,  coats, belts, etc.

We take them to our church to help in missions and local needs in our community. Call us today to pick it up. 469-449-4420

Books, Movies, CDs, Audiobooks, Collectibles

Please ensure all items are in excellent, almost AS NEW condition.
During a home pick-up, we will take a quick survey of the books. We can only accept items we know we can use - we will not take books that are in poor condition or out-of-date.  It costs us a lot of time and money to dispose of unusable books, so please understand that we cannot accept these.

We need:

--Children's books - both hardcover and softcover

--Hardcover and softcover books of all types, except we are very picky about ADULT HARDCOVER FICTION (it is difficult to donate hardcover fiction novels to shelters, prisons, etc.). Please give us a call if you have questions about your hardbacks

--Softcover fiction, art, cookbooks, history, foreign language, psychology, sports, coffee-table books, music, etc.

--Encyclopedia Britannica sets from the year 2000 to the present

--Movies - DVD and classic VHS (e.g. we generally cannot use 1990s blockbusters on VHS)

--CDs - music, instructional, videogames, etc.

--Audiobooks on CD or cassette

--Collectible items such as antique or autographed books, vintage magazines, comic books, memorabilia, figurines, jewelry, watches, etc. are very useful - we will auction them and use the proceeds to fund our programs.

We do not need...

--Hardcover fiction without a dust jacket, hardcover fiction with a torn dust jacket

--Textbooks published before 2008. This includes high school and collegiate textbooks

--Travel guides published before 2007

--Romance novels in paper or hardback

--Ex-library books

--Book Sale "Leftovers"

--Yellowed or damaged books. Please also keep an eye out for cracked spines, loose pages, and "foxing," which looks like little yellow or brown spots across the top edge of the book's pages. Also, books that have been stored for a long time in a basement or attic could possibly have book mold across the top edges of the book's pages. Again, just something to be aware of

--Magazines

--Outdated books - including business/management/real estate books published before 2005; politics or current events published before 2007; any edition of "What Color Is Your Parachute" besides the 2010 edition; think-tank/policy speciality books unless from 2010; items that look dated or just plain old (unless antique)

--Lastly, please be aware that we may not be able to use books that inlcude large amounts of highlighting or underlining
